Lingering Ghost Fade with Time

Close your eyes little girl, 

Don't worry about a thing.

I know the world is big and scary,

You have so many questions, 

questions that I don't have the right answers too. 

I know you wonder why,

Why things are the way they are.

You think this has something to do with you,

and I know what its like,

To have a ghost that lingers everywhere you go,

To have someone so close in your heart,

but so far away from here all the same.

To want more from someone,

Who can't give you more

Someone who should have given it there all.

This isn't because of you.

Don't fret over it. 

They are only a small corner piece of 

The million piece puzzle of you.

I may have pushed too hard, 

My intentions were none but the best. 

But your mama wonders if she messed up,

Did I fight for something that wasn't worth the pain?

I know this little bit of struggle we have is there for a reason

To keep us fighting, 

To show us our strength,

and that giving up was never an option 

We grow, we learn and we always love.

Our ghosts will soon enough fade with time.

We will move on with our lives, 

We will grow and morph until one day we finish our race. 

But for now our race has only just begun,

and I am glad I get to run our race together.
