One thing I always struggle with is eating healthy. I can do the work out with little struggle but when it comes to food I really have a hard time giving up some of the not so good foods that I love so much. And I don't see why I should really have to give up some of them when I can substitute and try new things. As a mom one of the hardest things is not grabbing something quick to go which normally isn't very good for me.
I am not telling you these are the most healthy I am telling you that I am learning to substitute and learning to make things better that otherwise may not have been.
So here are a few tricks and foods that are really yummy and easy to make.
So I love ranch dip for chips or veggies its soooo good. Well one of my biggest problems is getting the amount of protein I really need. I do keep track of my calories but I focus more one getting the right nutrients I need. Generally protein is my biggest miss. So instead of using sour cream for this dip I use Plain Greek yogurt. Don't freak out it taste exactly the same as the normal dip. I promise. I also add rotell to this dis to give it an extra kick. I DO NOT recommend using the ranch dip packet I have in this picture. They have some used for dressing not dip and it works much better. Otherwise the powder will rise and constantly needs mixed if you use the dip style.
Oatmeal Energy Bites
I really struggle with breakfast and sometimes when I am in a hurry it gets missed by miles. This is a great snack that I can grab and gives me a little boost when I need it.
This is about 102 calories but what I love most about this snack is no added sugar!
Recipe:
1 cup of rolled oats
1/2 cup of peanut butter or almond butter (I did peanut butter for a cheaper make)
1/2 chocolate chips or raisins
1/4 ground flax seed
1/3 raw honey
Oven Boiled Eggs
This is probably something you've seen before but if not and if you struggle boiling eggs...like I do this is a great method for you!
Set oven to 325 degrees
place eggs in cup cake holders
Cook for 30 minutes
Take out and place in ice water for 10-15 minutes
Peel
These peel so easy and are always completely cooked through. I do this once a week usually on Sundays to be ready for the next week. We eat a lot of eggs 0-0
Hope this helps! Like always say if there is something you want to try but don't want to worry about a fail let me do it! Comment something you'd like to see. I'll let you know if it really works or not.
Have a Great Monday!
Stay Positive!
