Finding clothes for your precious little one is extremely exciting and fun and VERY expensive. You want your child to have the best of the best but without spending a butt load of money on one onesies that they will surly grow out of by next week.
As a first time mom and Single mom I knew I wasn't going to have a lot of money for buying baby clothes. However I was having a baby girl and was excited to dress her up in all sorts of cute dresses and other girly girl clothes.
As soon as I knew gender I began looking for good deals. My favorite thing to do was to look on Swap Shops off of facebook. They are the best! Its all local so I don't have to drive forever to get the stuff. It took me a couple weeks but I finally found a lady selling all her baby clothes from her daughter newborn- 12 months. I bought just about all of my daughters clothes for 35 dollars. 0-0 I know right! Super cheap and There was a lot of cute clothes in there! Not to mention my friend had a friend who was selling hers and she split the price with me and we had even more baby clothes. So I personally spent 50 for the first year of my daughters life. Not to mention we received a lot from our baby shower too!
I personally couldn't imagine doing it any different! The clothes she had were clean and adorable and cheap. I really can't imagine spending much more than I did because the first year goes so fast... they grow out of those cute clothes and soon you getting rid of those clothes and looking for more.
I guess if you have the money go for it! But I wouldn't go over board save that money for your baby's college fund or someday when you need diapers or when your car breaks down. The first year of there lives are extremely important and I know you want the best of the best for your children but realize that it doesn't matter how much you spend or if their clothes are name brand. What matters is if they know you loved them and cared for them. Pay attention to ever detail your child does because someday those will only be pictures of clothes and memories. Live in the moment!
Honestly though if your a first time mom trying to figure out what you need.... DON"T STRESS! Most everything you will get at your baby shower or you will figure it out as the time goes on. Enjoy being pregnant and try not to get overwhelmed! It will be fine. If your a worry wart like me its easier said than done, You will be fine though.

Funny Potty Training Story
Let me be honest.... When I first started to think of potty training I wasn't really sure what the heck I was going to do. I really had never thought about how I was going to do it and I didn't even know what works and what doesn't work. I mean I know they say girls are easier to potty train but I feel like boys are. For real though throw a Cheerios in the toilet and tell them to aim... okay I know its probably not that easy.
Millie had gone potty in the potty around 15 months old but it more just happened because I got her on the potty in time. She hasn't gone since that day.
This morning I got up an got ready for the work day, once I was already I walked into Millie's room and peered over the side of her crib. She was laying on her belly completely naked with her diaper on the other side of the crib. I laughed and asked her why did you take the diaper off, I received a glare as she was still waking up. So I grabbed her clothes and picked her up and decided to sit her on the potty to see if this was a sign that she's ready to start potty training.
She got a bit emotional so I sat her across from me and I sat on the potty too, to show her what shes suppose to do. She didn't last long sitting on the potty and soon got up and was walking around the potty. She suddenly started squatting but before I noticed it she started peeing all over the floor.... I heard the sound of pee and looked down all confused and realized what had happened.
She looked up at me and cried and no matter how wrong of me it was I picked her up and laid her on a towel and told her it was okay and wiped the tears away. I told her she was so close to getting it in the potty and next time would be better.
Honestly I can't help but laughing. She was right next to the potty. All she had to do was sit! But oh well. We will try again and soon I won't have to buy diapers! I am so excited that we are on to this new step in her childhood. I hope I can make it fun and exciting for her as well, shes so smart it won't take long for her to get the full idea.

Disclaimer: I was taking her out of the car seat which is why the chest bar isn't higher. It should be closer to her shoulders.

Food For Thought
Lets just admit it now... Being a single mom means your always on the go...Heck being a mom period means that. One thing I have struggled with is coming up with a way to be organized in my cooking and meal planning. I tend to grocery shop blindly, I have no idea what I am getting when I go shopping so since moving I have decided things have to be different. I want to try to eat at home more and to keep shopping cheaper by knowing what I am going to get so I don't over buy.
I also decided to do this because half the time I don't have an item that I need to cook a meal so I end up going to the grocery more than once a week and honestly I do not want to do that anymore. I felt like this weekend my boyfriend and I was at the store more than we were at home. I want to enjoy more time at home. I want to relax!
I started by making a spread sheet- It only has Lunch and Dinner on there because I really don't do breakfast however you can easily add breakfast to your list. This may seem really simple but I already feel more organized and have an idea on what I need for the week ahead of me.
Have any Tips for me or other moms out there? Comment Below!
