Christmas shopping can be exhausting and cause stress, we all know the feeling and it isn't one many like to brag about. When it comes to financial aspects of Christmas time I think many parents feel helpless. Stuck in a place of not being totally broke and still giving your child and family the best Christmas ever. The first step is looking at how much you can spend and set a number and do not go over that number! Its not easy but its worth it if you can do it.
My family goal was to keep all of my daughters presents under $150 but I did much much better than that. I spent around $110 dollars. That is forty dollars less than I intended to spend! I am totally satisfied with the amount of toys she got and the amount of money I saved. For that reason I will not be buying any more presents for my daughters Christmas at this point.
So how did I do it? I didn't buy all of these toys new. The Anna doll was found at a thrift store for a dollar ninety nine. That is pretty much impossible at this point. A lot of other thrift stores were pricing these around 10 dollars. To get this doll in store its nearly twenty dollars, which is a huge saving on my part. Her hair was a tad bit ratted but I used fabric softener and water sprayed it on her hair and brushed it out. It made her hair super curly and pretty. Just like new!
Secondly I got the white and purple pony for .99 cents at savers. I took off the stickers on it and fixed its hair. Another gift looking brand new and works great for 99 percent off the original price. That is a pretty huge steal.
