Experimenting with Ideas is GOOD!

Good Afternoon,

Time to share my organizing tips for my back closet that I have. It is small and I have a lot I want to fit in it. My biggest tip with small rooms or areas don't be afraid to experiment. Some ideas won't work but like the one below it worked perfectly!
This is such an awkward picture but is the best I could get!
I put a shelf I purchased at Walmart on the bench in my closet( originally meant as a shelf for things). It worked perfectly was stable so I am not nervous about anything falling.

This is not how it will stay because I don't like the vacuum up there but it is showing you that its okay to try new things to see if they work.... this did not work!

I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday! See you next week for a fantastic fitness week!

Living Room- First Impressions

In my home the living room is the room I try to keep the nicest. It is what all of my guest see first when they enter the home. It is the infamous first impression, and can sometimes be a pain in the butt.

Key box! If your anything like me losing your keys is an every day battle. Or leaving them in the door all night... which is terrifying realize anyone could have gotten into my home! I got this key box several months ago and it just fit my home so perfectly! I really enjoy how it looks and now I hardly ever lose my keys because they have a specific place to go every time. They have several style of these out there. I really like this one because of the added drawer for pens or things I may need when answering the door.
Command hook command hook command hook lets be honest I may be a bit obsessed with these nifty gadgets. I put one hook under my key holder to help with things like jackets or purses. Normally I would put my purse here but because I did not bring it in last night it got to hold our jackets. I really did not want 50 command hooks holding separate things so one works great for me. I always put my daughters jacket on the hook first and then mine. Saves space that way!

I am really not a big shoe fan. I wish I could say other wise but all of my shoes fit into that basket down there. I love using baskets to contain a mess. As well as my coat hook which I put a few things I might need because I live in Missouri there is no telling what tomorrows weather will be!

Once again I love my baskets! A rule I have in my house is bedroom toys stay in the bedroom! She gets one basket in the living room with toys and if she wants to bring more out then we take some out of the basket and restock them. This basket places under the side table just perfectly!

I love my two cabinets I have in my living room! I used the bottom for Millie's books. She has a ton of books and for awhile they were in a basket but there were just to many so I have her the bottom cabnit! She knows that is where her books go and almost always puts them away!

Above is a few diaper supplies, coloring books and her flash cards as well as a DIY house freshener I made when things just don't have the fun smell. We also have all her kids movies (which I secretly enjoy). I used a organized box to keep my movies in because we honestly don't use them that often. But when I do I can flip through and pick one and can put it back easily!

I hope this helped!
Have a great Thursday!
Just one more day till the WEEKEND!

Day Three: Change of Plans

Alright so I failed updating today! However after looking at my room there is a lot I would like to do before I show some of the organizing tips I have. Soorrrryy!  In other words I was working out last night and completely crashed afterwards.

So instead I am going to talk about the work out I am starting and I am very very excited about. I have started Insanity with Shawn T!!

Yesterday was the first day I have worked out that hard but I did it and in turn I got this gorgeous red sweaty face. I am very proud of that sweat! Its the first time in three years I completely finished a work out and actually FELT the work out I was doing.

I am not sure what happened but today I woke up in a great mood and I smiled and did my make up and hair and I feel absolutely amazing today. It is only day two and I feel very good about what I am doing, I love the feeling after I finish that really hard work out.

I just want to say that if I can do this then you can too! Don't give up! Find what works for you and go for it!

Bathroom Chaos

Ahhh I almost forgot about Bathroom day! I am only showing parts of the bathroom today and maybe another time I will show the rest.

I am the worst person to share a bathroom with... ask my sister and she will tell you. I tend to leave things out; normally now because I am in a hurry. So I decided to make things a bit easier on myself with these tricks.

So this is how my bathroom top should look.... not usually how it was looking but its the goal. I have a little crate for deodorant and extra things I may need. Its a great way to help the top look neat and not cluttered.

I haven't quite decided if I like this because I feel it takes some space under the counter. I use it for my make up brushes and some extra make up I don't really use a whole lot. It would also be good for your hair brushes or just about anything.

This is the bottom drawer... this tends to be my miscellaneous drawer so i used some make up bags to clean it up. That way if I have guest and they open it they won't be shocked by clutter filling to the top.

Top Drawer: I found this insert at dollar general for four dollars and I really like it. It just looks so neat. Also another drawer that tends to get cluttered when I try to hide my mess quickly. ;)

Now this is my favorite part of my bathroom. I had seen this a few times on pinterest but couldn't find a show holder cheap enough or small enough that I liked. This one was only a few bucks at Dollar General and worked perfectly and didn't make it hard to close the door. I used this for my daughters hair bands and bows as well as my brushes and hair styling equipment. However you could use it for so much more!

Alright! I hope you enjoyed today's blog! Come back tomorrow!

The Kitchen: Tips

I love the kitchen. It probably has something to do with the fact that its the center of my home. No really not because I cook a lot or anything but because literally everything in my house is centered off the kitchen. Its where we cook, its a laundry room and sometimes is a craft room on some rainy days. In my home it can easily become a catch all, probably in yours as well.

I have a pretty big kitchen but its also on the small side. Here are a few tips in helping keep you kitchen clean and orderly with out to much worry.

This is the ultimate Catch all- This is kind for the stuff that doesn't exactly have a space but needs one.
The top shelf has a box with my daughters coloring books and drawing supplies. I decided to put them up high because several of my doors now have pretty drawings all over them which made momma ooooohhhh sooo happy..... not. This way when she wants to I have to get them out and they aren't all over the house.
I also have my camera up there, so she can't break it. As well as a few other house keeping things such as light bulbs.

This counter on the right side of my sink is the dreaded pile your shit and run table. So my goal for myself is to keep this as clean as possible. Under one of the cabinets is a paper towel holder. I really like this instead of the standing holders because its one more way to keep the counter clean. I also have another stand for my phone to charge on. I want to start keeping my electronics in the kitchen instead of in my room (not sure how well that is going to go over).
In the corner is my binder of foods we like to cook in my home. Seems silly but I sometimes forget about some of them so it helps on nights when I haven't decided what to cook. Also a good thing if we have a babysitter, not that I ever get to do that but maybe someday!

I added some command hooks on the bottom of my cabinets so that I could hang the oven mittens. Here's a tip: Two pot holders for hands and one maybe two square pot holders. Don't crowd your drawers with a million pot holders when you probably only use a couple.
Also found the hanging shelf and the stand alone shelf at thrift stores- There are normally quiet a few I would check out a few thrift stores and get your favorites.
I fnally went through all our cups and narrowed it down to four glass cups four coffee cups and four wine glasses. I also got rid of all of our Tupperware and bought new. Tupperware builds up over time and then we have an excess of plastic containers we don't really need! I used a basket to keep track of the lids.

This is my favorite cabinet! Get spice rack it is amazing and helps me see what I have. I tend to use the same three spices because normally they are crowded on the shelf.
Command Hooks- I only had two big hooks left but they worked Perfectly for our measurement cups and table spoons. This gives everything a place to go with out crowding my drawers up.

This is my new favorite space- My laundry room is in the corner of the kitchen which can cause unneeded mess of clothes on the floor which looks tacky and messy. Once again I used Command hooks and found a mesh bag from the Dollar General for 2.50. I am sure you could find one cheaper at the Dollar Tree but I wanted something a bit stronger.

I hope these tips help you get organized. There is a lot I still haven't done yet so if you have anything you want me to do and maybe do a tutorial because I know some of the pinterest stuff looks easy and then its not I will be your test dummy and check them out for you.

If you have a space you need help organizing let me know and I will do my best to help you out.

Have a Great Monday!
