To Try is to risk Failure: Risks are okay!

"To love is to risk not being loved in return. To hope is to risk pain. To try is to risk failure, but risk must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing."

This quote was a quote given to me by a great school counselor who truly helped me through one of the hardest times of my young life. He had printed of a list of quotes(those that know me now know how I got the idea for Operation Positive) and pointed to this one, he told me to keep this in mind as I continued through my life. It helped in that moment but I never knew it would come back to help me years down the road.

Taking risks has always been sort of scary for me. I overthink everything I do in hopes of never disappointing anyone and fixing all the mistakes in this sometimes cruel world. Sometimes I will take a risk and own it and feel so powerful but other times a risk that feels bigger than the rest and scares me into submission of my fears.

Sometimes it just seems easier to stay in bed and let the world revolve around me let life happen to me and not take my life in my own hands. I feel like these thoughts are forced into our heads at a young age that it isn't okay to stay what you think or do what you think maybe right. That taking risks is too scary and you should avoid anything that could have an unpleasant outcome.

But growing up a little you begin to realize that everything you do can possibly have a bad or uncomfortable outcome but that doesn't mean you shouldn't do it. It means you should take the precautions to avoid the pain or hurt but to also jump and try something new or unlike yourself.

What I am saying here isn't go jump off a cliff because your scared of it (I mean you can if you take proper safety precautions). What I am saying is if there is something you've been wanting to do like find a new job or ask for that raise you deserve or even tell someone what you think, do not be afraid to take that step. Of course be informed on your next move but  DO NOT LET FEAR CONTROL YOUR LIFE!

As always Peace and Love
