Fall and Halloween Crafts: Keeping it Cheap

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. Its getting cold outside but not to cold, the colors are changing, the wind blowing with a fierce force. The electric blankets heating our toes and pumpkin latte's warming our hearts. There is not much better than the feeling of fall.

I love coming up with fun crafty things for my family to do. Spending time together is everything to me and making sure my kiddo is involved in family oriented activity's. Sometimes I think family's feel that to do that they need to spend a bunch of money to make that possible and I have thought the same way as well. This year is a tad different the budget isn't going to allow me to spend very much and that is okay because I've got better ideas.

Halloween is one of the easier holidays to find something to make or do on the cheap. If your looking for simple carving a pumpkin or painting it is the easiest and still a lot of fun. Its a bit messy but just get some plastic bags and lay them down on the table or just the floor! I spent 3.88 for the pumpkin pictured! Not to mention I can make pumpkin seeds after I carve it! #Moneysaver

I usually choose a craft for Millie to do that I can keep. I found this cat piece for 3 dollars at target. Get some spooky Halloween paint colors and let em go at it! Millie loves to paint! However are you looking for a bit less messy? Buy some spooky stickers and let the kiddos sticker their pieces! Kids love stickers and a little less messy.

Last but not least I love to spread some holiday cheer! Buy some cards from the dollar store 2 for a dollar let the little one draw a picture on the open side and then write a short message and send them to your friends and family.

Total Spending? $10.88 and whole lot of memories to share.

Now in my case I had the paint all ready so if you don't you maybe spending just a bit more depending on what you have or not.

However a ticket to a pumpkin patch is approximately $12.00 dollars plus buying an over priced pumpkin and other foods. You could be spending upwards of 40 dollars a visit! When that isn't possible remember what is important....the memories and time together.

Happy Halloween and enjoy these fun idea's.
