Funny Potty Training Story

Let me be  honest.... When I first started to think of potty training I wasn't really sure what the heck I was going to do. I really had never thought about how I was going to do it and I didn't even know what works and what doesn't work. I mean I know they say girls are easier to potty train but I feel like boys are. For real though throw a Cheerios in the toilet and tell them to aim... okay I know its probably not that easy.

Millie had gone potty in the potty around 15 months old but it more just happened because I got her on the potty in time. She hasn't gone since that day.

This morning I got up an got ready for the work day, once I was already I walked into Millie's room and peered over the side of her crib. She was laying on her belly completely naked with her diaper on the other side of the crib. I laughed and asked her why did you take the diaper off, I received a glare as she was still waking up. So I grabbed her clothes and picked her up and decided to sit her on the potty to see if this was a sign that she's ready to start potty training.

She got a bit emotional so I sat her across from me and I sat on the potty too, to show her what shes suppose to do. She didn't last long sitting on the potty and soon got up and was walking around the potty. She suddenly started squatting but before I noticed it she started peeing all over the floor.... I heard the sound of pee and looked down all confused and realized what had happened.

She looked up at me and cried and no matter how wrong of me it was I picked her up and laid her on a towel and told her it was okay and wiped the tears away. I told her she was so close to getting it in the potty and next time would be better.

Honestly I can't help but laughing. She was right next to the potty. All she had to do was sit! But oh well. We will try again and soon I won't have to buy diapers! I am so excited that we are on to this new step in her childhood. I hope I can make it fun and exciting for her as well, shes so smart it won't take long for her to get the full idea.

Disclaimer: I was taking her out of the car seat which is why the chest bar isn't higher. It should be closer to her shoulders.
